Reigning IFAF World Champion & Team USA Football Quarterback Joins TMRW Sports to Help Develop Professional League with the NFL.
Orlando, Fla. (Oct. 22, 2026) – TMRW Sports today announced Darrell “Housh” Doucette III as a professional flag football ambassador for the new pro league being developed in partnership with the National Football League (NFL). Doucette is the reigning IFAF men’s world champion quarterback and helped lead Team USA Football to its sixth consecutive IFAF world title and earned MVP honors after accounting for four touchdowns in the championship game.
He joins fellow TMRW Sports ambassadors Izzy Geraci, Ashlea Klam and Vanita Krouch, who also serves as the league’s lead for player relations.
“I’ve been fortunate to play flag football around the world, but there hasn’t been a professional league where players can make the sport their full-time career,” said Doucette.
“That’s what makes this opportunity so meaningful to me. I know what today’s players have invested in their game, and I’m eager to help create a league that gives them, and the athletes who follow, a chance to make flag football a full-time, professional pursuit.”
“Housh brings firsthand experience of what it takes to compete and win at the highest level of flag football,” said Brendan Donohue, president, flag football, TMRW Sports.
“His perspective is invaluable as we build a world-class professional league and address needs of elite athletes to compete at their absolute best.”
Doucette and his fellow ambassadors are advising TMRW Sports on the player experience, including game play, rules, uniforms, training camps, facilities and other athlete-focused elements. TMRW Sports’ ambassadors work alongside the company’s flag football operations team, led by Champ Kelly, senior vice president of flag football operations.
Doucette will also serve as a spokesperson for the pro league and will make his first appearance as part of the NFL Paris Game festivities.
Darrell “Housh” Doucette III
Doucette joined USA Football’s Men’s National Team in 2021 and has won three IFAF World Championship gold medals, in 2021, 2024 and 2026, securing a 36-1 record with Team USA Football. At the 2026 IFAF World Championships, Doucette helped Team USA Football defeat Italy 46-26 in the gold-medal game, scoring four touchdowns, two passing and two rushing, to earn MVP honors.
As the sport’s national governing body in the U.S., USA Football selects, trains and leads Team USA Football in international competitions, including the 2028 Olympic Games. He also has won gold at the 2022 World Games and the 2023 and 2025 IFAF Americas Continental Championships. Doucette gained national attention in 2018 when he led his Fighting Cancer team to the American Flag Football League Ultimate Final championship and a $1 million prize.
Building a World-Class League for the World’s Best Flag Athletes
The addition of Doucette comes as TMRW Sports accelerates its player identification and league development. On Oct. 6, TMRW Sports and the NFL hosted the league’s first professional flag football talent qualifier at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, bringing together elite women’s and men’s athletes representing nine countries across Europe and Australia. Top performers will be invited to next year’s league combine, with additional qualifiers planned in U.S. and international cities.
TMRW Sports and the NFL are developing the professional flag football league for women and men ahead of the sport’s Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The league is being designed to provide fast-paced, elite-level competition and a tech-forward presentation from the first purpose-built stadium for flag football. It will add a professional tier to the sport’s growing youth, high school, collegiate, international and Olympic ecosystem.
The league has support from a broad investor pool including all 32 NFL club owners, institutional and strategic investors, current and former NFL players and women athletes.
TMRW Sports also has formed a strategic partnership with IFAF, the international governing body for American football and the IOC-recognized federation responsible for competitions in the Olympic Games. At the 2026 IFAF World Championships, Canada’s women’s and men’s teams, Italy’s men’s team and Mexico’s women’s team joined the U.S. women’s and men’s teams as the first teams to qualify for flag football’s Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
More than 20 million people currently play flag football around the world, with participation continuing to increase across all levels. Approximately 4.1 million youth play the sport in the U.S. alone – more than a 50% increase since 2020. Flag football is now offered in high school in 40 states, with the number of young women playing on their high school teams increasing by nearly 60% from 2024 to 2025. In addition, more than 250 colleges and universities across the country now offer women’s flag football programming. The NCAA recently approved flag football as part of the Emerging Sports for Women program and voted at its spring meeting to recommend that Divisions I, II and III add a National Collegiate Flag Football Championship as early as spring 2028.
